Nathan Jones is a criminal defense attorney in Lake Charles, Louisiana, who’s passionate about helping people through some of the toughest moments of their lives. Since 2020, he’s been standing up for those facing criminal charges, working hard to make sure every client is heard, respected, and fiercely defended.
Growing up in Moss Bluff, Nathan attended Sam Houston High School and has called Southwest Louisiana home his entire life. He knows the people here, understands the community, and takes pride in being someone local folks can count on.
Nathan earned his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University right here in Lake Charles, where he studied General Studies with minors in English, History, and Psychology. That mix of subjects gave him a broad perspective and a deep appreciation for people’s stories—something he carries into every case he handles.
He went on to earn his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, receiving the Dean’s Scholarship for academic achievement. It was there that he found his calling in criminal defense, learning how to fight for people’s rights with both skill and compassion.
In 2023, Nathan started his own private law practice, driven by a desire to serve his community with honesty and integrity. In 2025, he joined The Johnson Firm, where he continues to help clients navigate the legal system with confidence and care.
When he’s not in court, Nathan is usually being bossed around by his two dogs: Arya, a tiny poodle with a big attitude, and Margot, a lovable Bernedoodle who thinks she’s a lap dog. Between their demands for treats, walks, and front-row seats on the couch, they keep him on his toes—and laughing.
Nathan believes that everyone deserves a strong defense and a fair shot. Whether you’re facing a misdemeanor or something more serious, he’s the kind of attorney who listens first, fights hard, and never forgets what’s at stake.
