Alfonso Rubio-Araiza killed in single-vehicle Rapides Parish crash

 In

64-year-old Alfonso J. Rubio-Araiza’s life was cut short in a crash on LA Highway 113 near East River Road on the afternoon of August 20. He was heading south on the highway when the car veered off the road and hit a tree.

After the violent collision, the vehicle burst into flames. Rubio-Araiza was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

Sadly, authorities believe the man did not adhere to two crucial driving guidelines. Initial indications are that Rubio-Araiza was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A toxicology sample will confirm this working theory.

Additionally, authorities believe the Forest Hill resident was not wearing his seatbelt. While certain circumstances put people in grave danger with or without restraint, wearing a seatbelt has been shown to protect individuals at a higher clip.

The car did not strike or affect any other vehicles on Louisiana Highway 113 when these troubling events unfolded.

The Johnson Firm sends our sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Rubio-Araiza. We can be reached at (337) 433-1414 if you or a loved one is injured in a motor vehicle accident.
