17-year-old Charidy Dunbar was involved in a fatal collision on the afternoon of April 14. The crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 1 near an intersection with Louisiana Highway 943. The crash involved Dunbar’s 2022 Nissan Sentra, a 2015 Porsche Macan, and a 2006 Toyota Highlander.

According to reports, the unrestrained Dunbar did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection and made contact with the Porsche. The Nissan careened off the road and crashed. Meanwhile, the Porsche was struck once again by the Highlander.

At this point, Dunbar is the only driver whose condition has been confirmed. It’s unknown whether the occupants in the other two cars were hurt.

The next evening on April 15, 25-year-old Evan Newman was driving on Interstate 10 when his 2006 Nissan Titan veered off the roadway. The car struck an embankment and hit a tree.

The reason for this accident remains under investigation. A toxicology sample was obtained and is still being analyzed. No other vehicles were involved in the incident that took Newman’s life.
