Yvette Logan charged with murdering husband in domestic dispute

Marital disagreements are inevitable, and there are different ways to handle a point of contention. Being able to communicate with one another to address the problem at hand is ideal, although that can certainly be easier said than done.

Unfortunately, a difference of opinion seemed to be at the root of a heated exchange between a couple living in Bell City during the evening of January 22. It’s not clear what escalated the exchange between 60-year-old Yvette G. Logan and 67-year-old William G. Logan, but matters reached a fever pitch.

Yvette Logan ended up shooting her husband at their home on Gragg Road, and William Logan died as a result of the gunshot wound.

Deputies arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, and Yvette Logan admitted to authorities that she did commit the act. She exited her home voluntarily and cooperated with authorities.

She has been booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and has been charged with second-degree murder. A bond amount has not yet been determined.

“We’ll review all the facts, it will take a while to investigate the entire matter,” said Calcasieu Parish District Attorney Stephen Dwight. “But once we get that we’ll go over the facts and the evidence with the detectives…” Via KPLCTV.com

It’s going to be interesting to see what is uncovered during the course of the investigation, especially if the couple had been together or married for an extensive period of time. It may turn out that discontent between husband and wife existed for a long time, or that a recent event might have caused the relationship to turn sour.

This context will factor into whether Yvette’s actions will be deemed to be premeditated or not.
