Violence does not discriminate by age, as we’ve seen in recent headlines. The Dec. 14 drive-by shooting near East Carlton Street ended in the arrest of 18-year-old Brandon Allen Jr., who was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center for assault drive-by shooting and aggravated property damage. Thankfully no one was injured in the shooting, but this is just the latest in a string of concerning violent acts committed by teenagers who can’t even legally drink.

Police were able to speak to witnesses in the area who were able to cull together footage that was taken during the attack, which allowed law enforcement to find the vehicle and ultimately Allen.

A spent bullet casing was also found inside Allen’s car, which led authorities to find the handgun that is believed to be the weapon used on that fateful evening.

The Johnson Firm will be interested to see how this story unfolds from a legal perspective, as well as to receive updates through local media about the condition of the victim. If you or someone you know has been the victim of a violent crime, please call us at (337) 433-1414.
